Reveal every safe square without touching a mine. Each number counts the mines in its eight neighbouring squares. Your first reveal and its neighbours are safe. Switch to Flag to mark a suspected mine, then back to Reveal. Some positions may require a guess.

How to play
  1. Start a round and reveal a square. The first reveal is safe.
  2. Use the numbers to deduce which neighbouring squares hide mines. Choose Flag to mark them.
  3. Reveal all safe squares to win. Touching a mine ends the round.
Tips and tricks

A few ideas that make Minesweeper easier and more fun:

  • A 1 with only one covered neighbour means that neighbour is a mine. Plant a flag.
  • Once a number has all its mines flagged, every other neighbour is safe. Reveal them.
  • On a touch screen, press and hold a square to flag it without switching tools.

Play Minesweeper online

Minesweeper is a classic computer puzzle built around number clues and hidden mines. This compact version has a safe first reveal and a touch-friendly flag mode.

Why it works

You combine neighbouring number clues, distinguish evidence from a guess and remember flagged squares. The task uses deduction, attention and cautious decision-making.

These are the skills used during play; improvement outside the game is not established.
