Tips and tricks
A few ideas that make Mental Math easier and more fun:
- Round to the nearest ten and adjust: 19 + 7 is 20 + 7 − 1.
- Check the last digit first. It often rules out two or three of the four answers at once.
- Keep a calm pace and build a streak. Guessing quickly rarely beats thinking steadily.
About Mental Math
Play Mental Math online
Mental arithmetic has long been part of classroom and family number games. This version keeps the familiar calculations, adds multiple-choice answers and leaves out the countdown clock.
Why it works
You retrieve number facts, hold intermediate results in mind and check the options. Untimed questions let accuracy and a comfortable pace take priority.
These are the skills used during play; improvement outside the game is not established.
