Colour Flood
Start in the top-left corner. Each move recolours your growing area. Flood the entire board before your moves run out.
Your area starts in the top-left corner. Choose a colour: the whole area takes it and absorbs every neighbouring square of that colour. Make the board one colour within the move limit. Easy is 8×8 with 5 colours, Standard 10×10 and Hard 12×12 with 6. Every colour also has its own shape.
How to play
- Choose a colour below the board.
- Your area turns that colour and absorbs matching neighbours.
- Cover the whole board before the moves run out.
Tips and tricks
A few ideas that make Colour Flood easier and more fun:
- Prefer colours that absorb many squares now and open up more later.
- Aim for big groups of one colour. A single move can swallow them.
- Do not ignore single squares: they can be bridges to large groups.
About Colour Flood
Play Colour Flood online
Flooding puzzles are casual-game favourites: one corner grows by absorbing neighbours of the colour you pick. Each colour also has a shape, so colour is never the only clue.
Why it works
You look ahead to see which colour opens up the most squares later. The task uses planning, pattern recognition and weighing options.
These are the skills used during play; improvement outside the game is not established.
